Newcastle United fans to fume at Premier League as latest fixture plan revealed

Newcastle United fans have been given yet another reason to be frustrated with the Premier League after the latest fixture reveal.

Ticket prices are often an issue for Premier League clubs up and down the country, not only the Magpies, and there have been previous issues over the lack of clarity when it comes to a takeover.

Clearly, with Eddie Howe in charge, lifting the Carabao Cup last season as Newcastle beat Liverpool at Wembley Stadium, and the team attempting to climb the table, all is much better at St James’ Park.

However, like most clubs, there is an underlying resentment of the footballing authorities, and fans are only likely to voice their frustrations more as new plans emerge for the coming weeks.

Eddie Howe to continue turning the tide at St James’ Park

Newcastle are likely to face PSR concerns, Football Insider understands, once the transfer window rolls around, and that is another reason for fans’ frustrations with the Premier League.

With Yoane Wissa still sidelined, joining Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall on the treatment table, new transfers could be on Howe’s wishlist, and there are certainly improvements to be made on the pitch.

The Magpies currently sit 12th in the Premier League table following a rough start to the campaign, and with more Champions League clashes on the horizon, it is not going to get any easier.

In addition to that, it appears that the Premier League might be planning to mess around with the club’s fixtures heading into the Christmas period, and it is unlikely to go down well with the supporters.

Newcastle United to prepare for key fixture changes

According to the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope (30 October), due to television changes, the Magpies’ trip to Man United, currently scheduled for 27 December, could be moved forward to Boxing Day.

No other teams are set to play on that day, and to add to the frustration, the trip to Turf Moor, facing Burnley, could be moved from 30 December to New Year’s Day.

Hope emphasised that these dates are by no means set in stone, but from his sources behind the scenes, it appears that these changes could be enforced, but who knows when.

It will be a lot of travelling for those trying to spend time with family, enjoying time off at home, or just kicking their feet up, and it will shift a lot of plans around for those already putting dates in the calendar.

Once again, broadcasting rights are being placed above fans’ wants and needs, even when they’re the ones spending the money on tickets and going to support their team.
