Bruce may have another £10m to spend at Newcastle after BBC's Willock update - Agbonlahor
Newcastle United may have another £10million to spend this summer after reportedly agreeing a fee for Joe Willock.
So says ex-Premier League hitman Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Steve Bruce’s transfer kitty.
BBC Sport reported on 8 August that the Magpies have agreed a £20m deal with Arsenal to sign Willock.
Willock, who spent the second half of 2020-21 on loan at St. James’ Park, is understood to have not yet agreed personal terms.
The 21-year-old midfielder is an Arsenal academy graduate and is under contract at the Emirates until 2023.
Agbonlahor claims that Bruce may have been entrusted with a £30m budget this summer.

He also suggests that the manager won’t be forced to make sales in order to offset the potential cost of the Willock deal.
He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “I don’t think they’ll need to sell because they haven’t signed anyone all summer until now.“
“Maybe Steve Bruce has known for a while that he’s going to have about £30m to spend and he’s seen Willock as a player that he wants.
“It makes sense for them to do that. I don’t think they’ll sell, I think they’ll want to add more because they don’t want to struggle again like last season.
“It’s a good signing. He’s the perfect player to have around. He can start or he can come off the bench and Steve Bruce likes exciting young players.“
