Newcastle United news: Pundit makes ‘unbelievable’ Timo Werner claim after journalist’s transfer update
Kevin Campbell has urged Chelsea striker Timo Werner to make a move to Newcastle United this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker suggested the 26-year-old would thrive outside of the “spotlight” at Stamford Bridge.
According to Bild’s Christian Falk (26 July), the Magpies are interested in signing Werner this summer.

The Germany international has made public his desire to leave Stamford Bridge in search of regular first-team football ahead of the World Cup.
Chelsea signed the forward for a fee of £47.5million in July 2020.
When asked by Football Insider if Werner would be a welcome addition at St. James’ Park, Campbell said: “Werner is a very good player.
“The problem is, I think he needs a change. He needs to get out of that spotlight. He needs to go somewhere else.
“It may all turnaround and click for him once he does that. The spotlight at Chelsea might be too much for him.
“He gets into unbelievable positions. His movement and speed are a constant threat.
“The thing is, he just hasn’t been scoring the goals. His finishing has not taken off at Chelsea.”

Werner contributed 11 goals and six assists in 37 appearances across all competitions in the 2021-22 campaign.
He has three years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
