Newcastle United tipped to sign ‘another Dan Burn’ after ‘£60m’ update – pundit
Newcastle United will sign more players in the mould of Dan Burn in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Magpies’ transfer plans.
According to The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards (24 March), Newcastle have ruled out making “superstar” signings this summer.

It was also reported Eddie Howe will be handed a summer budget of roughly £60million, however, funds could be boosted by the sale of first-team players who are surplus to requirements.
Burn, 29, joined the club from Brighton in January and has already made himself a key part of Eddie Howe’s squad.
McAvennie expects Newcastle look for similar figures to Burn in the summer.
“Dan Burn is the big one, for me,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“What he’s done to that defence is nothing short of brilliant. They need to copy that signing.
“If they aren’t going to spend big, they have shown they can get these deals done.
“How much was Burn? £13million? Those players are out there and Newcastle are an attractive club.
“Premier League experience and quality can be bought for the right deal. They can get another Dan Burn.
“They know how to get them so I think we will see them poach some of those players from around the Premier League.”

Newcastle also signed Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes and Matt Targett in January.
It was revealed by this site on Thursday (24 March) Miguel Almiron is one senior player who could be moved on this summer.
