
Sources: Newcastle United to sign new £8m deal before next season
Newcastle United are expected to retain Noon as a sponsor in 2023-24, sources have told Football Insider.
The branding of the Public Investment Fund-owned e-commerce platform has featured on Newcastle’s shirt sleeves this season.
The £7.5million partnership is the most lucrative of the PIF era so far, and it is understood that the company will be part of the club’s sponsorship inventory again next term.
A commercial source did not definitively say whether that would be as a sleeve sponsor or as part of Newcastle’s wider commercial portfolio.
The club will, however, welcome a brand new partner as their front-of-shirt sponsor next season.
The position vacated by Fun88 is expected to be filled by airline SAUDI, who sponsored Newcastle’s mid-season tour of their owners’ homeland in December.
Newcastle have been in the unusual position this season of having a sleeve sponsor arrangement worth more than their front-of-shirt and kit supplier deals.
This site revealed in February that there is frustration at St James’ Park that they have inherited a kit deal with Castore worth just £5m per year with no break clause and several seasons left to run.
Director Amanda Staveley has since confirmed that this sentiment is present behind the scenes, although she stopped short of namechecking the sportswear company directly.
Maximising commercial revenue is top of the agenda for the Tynesiders, who – under the terms of Financial Fair Play – must boost their income before they are able to unlock their owners’ near-limitless spending power.
