Newcastle United told to U-turn on Scott McTominay after transfer update – McAvennie
Frank McAvennie has claimed Man United midfielder Scott McTominay doesn’t have “the hunger” to make it at Newcastle United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said McTominay should stay at Old Trafford and learn from his teammates.
According to talkSPORT (20 August), Newcastle are one of four Premier League sides said to be interested in the 25-year-old.

The Scotland international’s place in the starting XI is said to be at risk after the signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid.
McTominay has three years left on his contract at Old Trafford.
When asked by Football Insider if McTominay would be a welcome addition at St. James’ Park, McAvennie said: “I can see what it is but I’ve not seen it recently.
“Listen, you don’t get in to the Man United team if you’re not a good player. Especially when they were doing alright when he joined. But he’s been there for a long time.

“I can understand what people see in him but I don’t see him having the fire in his belly, having that hunger. I don’t see him being part of the revolution at Newcastle.
“I think he’ll stay at United. He’s young, he’ll learn off the players there. You look at what Newcastle did at the weekend, whose place is he going to take? When they’re all playing like that, they all want to be part of the engine that’s going forward. McTominay is caught in no man’s land at the moment. If he goes then he’s got to prove his worth.“
