Next Man United manager: Luis Enrique odds slashed after dramatic new development
Man United could be set to appoint yet another manager in the summer despite the recent success of Michael Carrick.
While Ruben Amorim was sacked in early January at Old Trafford, the Red Devils are yet to determine who will be the coach’s permanent replacement.
Carrick is currently set to depart Man United in the summer, with the former Middlesbrough boss only signing a new contract until the end of the season.
While Football Insider has revealed that Carrick could be at Man United next season if they qualify for the Champions League, there is still a long way to go despite his winning start.
As a result, other options are being looked at, with Luis Enrique emerging as a potential contender.
Luis Enrique 16/1 to be Man United manager at the start of the 2026-27 campaign
Enrique is seen as one of the top managers in the world.
The current PSG coach won yet another Champions League title last season as he demolished Inter Milan 5-0 in the final.
This season, Enrique could easily repeat this feat, with the former Barcelona manager having built an excellent squad in the French capital, despite Kylian Mbappe’s departure in 2024.
Nevertheless, the 55-year-old’s departure in the summer is seen as increasingly likely.

Oddschecker on 6 February confirmed that the odds of Enrique being in charge of Man United for the first game of the 2026-27 campaign have been slashed.
He is now just 16/1 to bag the job, and while this does not make him a favourite, he is certainly in contention.
Who is the favourite to be Man United manager next season?
Unsurprisingly, the current favourite for the job is Carrick at 8/11.
The manager has done an excellent job to date, winning all three of his matches at Old Trafford so far.
Following this is Oliver Glasner at 7/1, with the Crystal Palace boss set to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season.

Thomas Tuchel and Gareth Southgate are also viewed as potential outsiders, with the coaches currently both at 12/1.
Southgate has long been linked to the Man United job, and it remains to be seen if they finally award the former England manager a spot in the dugout come the start of next season.
