Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has revealed his side are wary of Tottenham’s threat, but insists they are focused on themselves in pursuit of the Premier League title.
The Blues have been the runaway leaders of the league this season and have been tipped to clinch the title with ease.
Kante, 26, has played a major role in their success and could be about to clinch the league crown for a second consecutive season, having won it last year with unlikely winners Leicester.
Chelsea’s hunt for the title has been going very strongly, but London rivals Spurs have now emerged as a serious challenger.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are just seven points adrift in second and have won their last six consecutive games across all competitions.
Kante has explained that Chelsea are fully concerned with their own results, despite admitting Spurs are currently playing “very well” right now.
“We still have eight games and we have to win six,” Kante told Sky Sports. “Tottenham are a good team playing very well, so it’s not done and we have to fight.
“Maybe Tottenham and Liverpool are going to come back so we have to focus on our game and play game-after-game for the title.”
Spurs have managed to crank up the pressure on Antonio Conte’s side after a good run of results, which star striker Harry Kane has also missed part of through injury.
They recorded a dramatic 3-1 win over Swansea on Wednesday, while Chelsea edged past Manchester City 2-1.
