Nick Woltemade reacts as Premier League loan-to-buy transfer complete

Niclas Fullkrug has finally departed West Ham, ending weeks of speculation regarding the striker’s future.

The Germany international joined the Hammers at the start of the 2024-25 campaign, but struggled to continue his form in the Premier League.

As a result, Nuno Espirito Santo often opted to bench Fullkrug, something that baffled the owners.

Now, after weeks of the striker being linked away to numerous clubs across Europe, he has finally made the move to AC Milan on a loan deal, with Nick Woltemade quick to react to the news.

Previously, Fullkrug has been a lethal striker in the Bundesliga.

Before his move to the Hammers, Fullkrug netted 15 goals in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund as they reached the Champions League final.

His form even saw him called up to the German squad, a place he has kept since his move to England.

Now, he will look to rekindle his form in Italy, as he joins AC Milan on loan until the end of the season, with the Italian giants having the option to make it permanent.

As a result, Fullkrug took to Instagram on 2 January to thank the club and the fans for his time at the East London side.

His Germany international teammate, Woltemade, was quick to react to the news by liking the post.

What other business could West Ham conduct in January?

Now, the main focus for West Ham will be to add reinforcements to their attack.

As it stands, Callum Wilson is their only senior striker, with the former Newcastle man unlikely to keep the Hammers up on his own.

Previously West Ham have been linked with Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen. However, it remains to be seen if Nuno makes a move, considering the Old Gold’s high asking price.

West Ham have also placed a £12million bid for Viktoria Plzen star Rafiu Durosinmi.

The striker has been in fine form so far this season for the Polish outfit and has netted 13 times in all competitions to date which has helped cause the heightened interest.
