Niclas Fullkrug: West Ham dressing room reveal
West Ham striker Niclas Füllkrug’s return for their game against Tottenham would be a ‘great boost’ for the dressing room as well as the fans.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hammers star Frank McAvennie believes the 31-year-old is a ‘hell of a striker’ and has backed him to be a success at West Ham despite his injury-plagued start to life at the club.
Füllkrug has yet to score for the East Londoners following his £27million summer move from Borussia Dortmund, having suffered an Achilles injury during international duty.
The Germany international has played just 137 minutes across all competition for his new side with his only start coming in their 1-0 League Cup win over Bournemouth earlier in the season.

Before their impressive 4-1 win over newly promoted Ipswich Town on matchday seven, West Ham had only managed to score six goals in their first six games.
Julen Lopetegui’s side will be looking to build on their impressive win and hoping for Füllkrug’s return as they head to Tottenham on Saturday (October 19).
“It could be a great boost for the changing room as well if he’s in there because he’s, you know, by all accounts he’s a hell of a striker”, McAvennie told Football Insider.
“And if this manager gets the team to play his kind of football and get the ball into him, good strikers keep coming short and getting the ball and all that kind of stuff, you need them in the box, that’s what they’re good at.
“If you can supply this boy, I’m sure he will score goals, that’s what he’s here for.
“He’s not there to run out wide he’s not there to run and bring people into the game, he’s there to score goals.
“So it would be nice to get him a wee run out Saturday if it’s possible.“
