Nicolas Jackson, Abdoulaye Doucoure react to Iliman Ndiaye’s latest at Everton

Iliman Ndiaye shared an update from the Everton training ground in his latest message to the supporters at Goodison Park.

David Moyes has been without his star winger since the dramatic 2-2 draw against Liverpool, when James Tarkowski netted an equaliser in the sixth minute of added time and Arne Slot was shown a red card.

Fellow injured Everton player Dwight McNeil has also dropped a cryptic clue over a potential return to the pitch, having been sidelined since December and since undergoing surgery on his knee.

The duo would be returning at the vital time ahead of another clash with their Merseyside rivals, this time at Anfield on Wednesday, 2 April, with the Toffees having something to prove in their remaining games.

Iliman Ndiaye could return from injury ahead of Liverpool v Everton

Taking to Instagram [28 March], Ndiaye posted images of himself back in full-team training, captioned with smiley face and football emojis, potentially preparing for a return from injury.

He has now missed five matches, and with the player back in training, he gained likes from Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson and teammate Abdoulaye Doucoure, who also replied with fire and heart emojis.

David Moyes to get the better of Arne Slot at Anfield

Football Insider verdict

The Toffees can truly get the party started with their first victory at Anfield in four matches, with The Friedkin Group’s takeover at Everton creating a buzz ahead of the summer transfer window.

While Moyes has refused to visit Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium before Premier League safety is confirmed, slipping into the dropzone should not be a major concern anymore.

Thanks to the Scot’s interventions since replacing Sean Dyche, the Blues have moved 17 points clear of 18th-place Ipswich Town, currently unbeaten in nine league matches.

Relegation is unlikely for Everton now.

While the manager has been without two of his most influential stars, McNeil and Ndiaye, Beto‘s resurgence has helped alleviate some of the pressure up front, but fans should expect more.

Their last four games have all ended in draws, and while it has been important to avoid losing, the Toffees had every chance of claiming victories from all four of these league games.

It would send a real message to the rest of the league ahead of the 2025/26 campaign with a win at Anfield.
