Nicolas Jackson and Reece James react to Trevoh Chalobah’s Chelsea confession
Trevoh Chalobah was in high spirits after making his return to Chelsea’s starting XI against Copenhagen.
Chelsea took control of their Round of 16 tie with a 2-1 victory on 6 March, putting themselves in a strong position for the second leg.
Enzo Maresca opted for a rotated squad, with 17-year-old Shim Mheuka making his first start for Chelsea. However, the youngster was substituted at half-time after a goalless opening 45 minutes.
They found their breakthrough shortly after the restart, with captain Reece James firing in a superb strike from distance. Enzo Fernandez doubled the lead before a late goal from the Danish side made for a nervy finish.
Chalobah had been out of action since suffering a back injury against Aston Villa on 22 February but was immediately reinstated into the starting line-up upon his return.
In the days leading up to the match, Chalobah had teased his Chelsea comeback with a cryptic message to fans. Following the victory, he followed up with another post, marking his return with a positive message.

His message was met with appreciation from several teammates, with club captain James among those who liked the post, alongside Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, who is currently sidelined with injury.
Jackson had provided his own update to Chelsea fans days earlier, but it appears the striker is still a few weeks away from making his return to action.

Trevoh Chalobah could leave Chelsea again amid transfer speculation
With injuries to Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana, Chelsea fans had called for Chalobah to be recalled following his impressive loan spell at Crystal Palace.
However, speculation over his future remains, with Football Insider revealing Chelsea are still open to letting Chalobah leave in the summer.
Despite competition for places in defence, the defender has slotted straight back into the starting XI and it is ultimately up to the Maresca to decide whether he remains important to his team.
