Nicolas Jackson shares devastating injury update – Chelsea news worse than feared

Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson took to social media to share an injury update after his most recent setback.

The 23-year-old picked up a thigh injury in Chelsea’s 2-1 Premier League win over West Ham and has since been ruled out for the next six weeks.

Enzo Maresca was initially hopeful that the striker would make a quick recovery, but the injury is worse than initially feared, leaving Chelsea with limited options up top.

Wonderkid Marc Guiu also picked up an injury in the win over West Ham and is expected to be out until the end of February.

Christopher Nkunku is Maresca’s only real striker option, just weeks after Football Insider revealed Man United were interested in signing the Frenchman right up until the January transfer deadline day.

Nicolas Jackson set for extended stay on the Chelsea sidelines as top four race heats up

The Senegal international has been hit and miss for his side this season, starting 22 of his 24 games across all competitions, scoring nine goals, and providing five assists in his 1778 minutes of action.

Football Insider revealed (February 12) that Chelsea are looking to improve in the striker position, and are eyeing a move for Liam Delap after Man City decided against activating their buy-back clause.

Jackson took to Instagram after it was revealed he’s set to be out for longer than expected to say: “Time and silence.”

The striker watched on from the sidelines as Chelsea were knocked out of the FA Cup by Brighton over the weekend, sending a message to his teammates afterward.

Maresca’s side face the South Coast club once again on Friday (February 14) as they seek to boost their top-four chances.
