Chelsea are feeling the impact of Nicolas Jackson’s injury, with his absence leaving them short of options in attack.

Chelsea fans have voiced frustration at the board club’s lack of depth, especially after Jackson and Marc Guiu were ruled out at the same time.

With limited choices up front, Chelsea have turned to Christopher Nkunku, who has yet to make a real impact since arriving at Stamford Bridge.

Paul Merson has weighed in on Chelsea’s striker situation, highlighting the impact of Jackson’s absence. He said: “Chelsea are struggling so badly at the moment. I look at them and they are missing Nicolas Jackson quite badly.

“Without him, I don’t see a real pattern of play at Chelsea. Jackson’s absence is also affecting Cole Palmer, who has to drop deeper now.” [Sky Sports].

The Senegalese forward has been Enzo Maresca’s preferred choice in the Premier League, making 22 starts in 23 appearances. His contributions have been crucial, scoring nine goals and providing five assists this season.

However, Jackson is currently enduring an eight-game goal drought, though he has still contributed with two assists during that period. Despite this, Maresca has continued to rely on him over other options, creating some uncertainty within the squad.

Christopher Nkunku was linked with a move away in January, with Manchester United interested, but no deal materialised and he is now pivotal for this period.

Chelsea fans feel Jackson’s absence in attack

The lack of Jackson’s presence up front has been evident in Chelsea’s recent performances, with results suffering in his absence.
