Nigel Reo-Coker in disbelief at Ruben Amorim’s Man United decision, he’s ‘ruining himself’
Manchester United sank to another Premier League defeat under Ruben Amorim, losing 3-0 away at Manchester City, as the sack now looms over the Portuguese head coach.
Phil Foden headed Man City into the lead, with Roy Keane slamming Luke Shaw for his role in the build-up to the goal.
A second-half brace from Erling Haaland wowed Gary Neville, as Man City breezed to victory, sinking Man United to a 33-year low.
Man United boss Amorim is under increasing scrutiny with Man City’s 3-0 rout leading to Sir Jim Ratcliffe looking perplexed at the Etihad Stadium stands.

Nigel Reo-Coker baffled by Ruben Amorim
Roy Keane blasted Amorim’s system, and it is a stick that has been used to beat the Portuguese head coach in recent weeks, with the 3-4-2-1 formation looking exposed once again on Sunday.
Speaking on the BBC’s Football Daily podcast, former Premier League midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker spoke about Ruben Amorim’s stubborn tactical approach.
Reo-Coker said: “You have to turn the page over now. He’s had long enough. He’s been given plenty of opportunity and no-one sees progression. The responsibility always falls on the manager.
“Ruben Amorim hasn’t helped himself. He keeps putting the spotlight on himself with the decisions that he is making as a manager.
“He is ruining himself – there is nobody to blame but him. He has been supported – £200m in a new strike force this summer was spent.
“He has got the players he wants in, he is ruining himself by being stubborn to his system. We can’t keep saying it’s the players. Change the team, play the right players in the right places to give you success. It’s not rocket science.”
Ruben Amorim falls short of expectations again
After Man United secured their first win of the season at home to Burnley before the international break, there was a sense of renewed optimism around the club.

Leading up to derby day, Man City’s injury woes and United’s performances gave fans a boost of confidence, with some thinking the club may have finally turned a corner.

However, as the match wore on more of the same issues continued to arise, with Amorim’s predictable formation getting unpicked yet again.
As Ratcliffe watched on despairingly from the stands, one has to wonder how many times Amorim can continue to come up short, before United search for an alternative direction.
