'Give me the absolute fear' - Rangers fans blast 21-yr-old despite win v Hearts

Rangers fans on Twitter have blasted David Bates for his performance against Hearts, as the player has struggled to deal with Kyle Lafferty, in a match which the Gers won 2-0.
Lafferty, who was a favourite during his time at Ibrox, gave the 21-year-old centre-back all kinds of trouble in the early stages of the game at Ibrox.
One fan was so unimpressed that he claimed that “the sooner the better” the injured Ross McCrorie replaced Bates in the Rangers defence.
Bates’ day was summed up when he missed a good chance to score late in the second-half but put his header over the bar.
Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to Bates’ performance:

As for the match itself, despite the efforts of Lafferty for Hearts, the Light Blues dominated the first-half, with Alfredo Morelos and Greg Docherty coming close before Jamie Murphy opened the scoring for the Gers in the 41st minute.
Josh Windass spurned a great chance to make it 2-0 early in the second-half, blazing over the bar when he really should have scored, he then missed another good chance soon after as the Gers went out to kill the game off.
In the end though, the missed chances didn’t matter as the Light Blues cliched the win thanks to an 88th minute Russell Martin goal, and in doing so closed the gap on league leaders Celtic to six points, before they face Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday.
