'No brainer' - Celtic fans urge club to sign Scottish international after impressive display

Celtic fans on Twitter have urged the club to sign Hibernian midfielder John McGinn after the midfielder dominated the Edinburgh derby.

The 23-year-old Scotland international – who made his debut for the national team against the Netherlands last year – starred as Neil Lennon’s side defeated Hearts 2-0, and many Hoops supporters believe that the Bhoys should make a move for the player in the summer.

The player was a linked with the Hoops in January, as reported by the Daily Mail, and one fan said he “can’t wait” to see the player move to Parkhead.

Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to McGinn’s performance:

McGinn has been hugely impressive for Hibernian since their return to the Scottish Premiership, which has saw the side in a battle with Aberdeen for third place.

His performances against Celtic haven’t gone unnoticed either, as he scored a double in a 2-2 draw between the teams, and had a combative duel with Scott Brown in another draw between the teams.

Indeed, many see McGinn as the direct replacement for Brown in the Hoops side, as the 32-year-old Bhoys skipper is coming towards the end of his career.

It will be interesting to see if Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers shares the supporters’ enthusiasm for McGinn, only time will tell.
