Derek Johnstone blasts agent of Rangers senior player

Rangers legend Derek Johnstone has blasted Kenny Miller’s agent after he slated the Ibrox club in a series of posts on Instagram.
Senior player Miller was banished to the club’s Under-20 squad after he was widely reported to have passed details from a meeting in the wake of the Gers’ 2-0 defeat to Celtic last month.
Agent Dave Baldwin savaged Rangers earlier this week over the way their handling of the issue, insisting Miller was one of the “best professionals” and calling the club’s reaction “embarrassing” in a post on his personal Instagram account.
The 37-year-old striker has missed the recent Scottish Premiership fixtures with Hamilton and St. Johnstone and it’s unlikely he’ll be involved in this weekend’s Scottish League Cup semi-final with Motherwell at Hampden.
Johnstone believes Baldwin’s comments are doing no favours to anyone and thinks Miller will be back in the squad for the trip to the national stadium.

“The manager said that Kenny had taken a knock in training and that was why he wasn’t in the squad last week, and then the agent comes out moaning about him being dropped,” Johnstone said, as quoted by the Evening Times.
“It just stirs everything up again and it doesn’t do the player or the club any favours.
“Kenny is back available this week, and it will be interesting to see if he will be in the squad for Sunday.
“I think it’s highly unlikely that he will start the game, but I’d like to think that with the experience and the quality that he has, he will at least be on the bench.”
Miller has had three spells with the Ibrox side, scoring 100 times in 250 appearances, but looks set to be leaving before too long after being handed a one-year extension to his contract just before the end of last season.
He and his side will no doubt be hoping to set up a potential Old Firm derby in the League Cup final by beating Motherwell on Sunday after Celtic take on Hibernian 24 hours before.
In other Rangers transfer news, a £7.5million midfielder is firmly in the running to be the club’s next signing.
