22-year-old reveals agent talks ahead of confirmed Rangers switch

Rangers have completed the loan signing of Nottingham Forest and Scotland striker Jason Cummings on loan until the end of the season – and the forward insists there was “no question” that he wanted to sign for the Gers when he found out they were interested.
Cummings was confirmed as Rangers’ fourth signing of the January transfer window on Monday as manager Graeme Murty overhauls the squad he inherited from predecessor Pedro Caixinha.
Jamie Murphy and Sean Goss have both already joined the Ibrox giants on loan while Declan John turned his loan into a permanent move when the transfer window opened.
Cummings admitted he wasn’t going to get much game-time with Forest after the sacking of Mark Warburton and after hold talks with his agent, he found out that the Gers were interested – and he couldn’t turn a move to Ibrox down.
“I’m absolutely delighted to come to such a massive club,” Cummings said, as quoted by the club’s official website.
“Once I knew they were interested, there was no question in my mind that I wanted to sign for them.
“My situation down south meant that I wasn’t going to play as much, so I was just wanting to get out there, get game time and get back to enjoying football again.
“I can’t wait to get started now. I asked my agent to try and sort something out, and when I heard Rangers were interested it was just something I couldn’t decline.
“I have always enjoyed playing against Rangers, and hopefully I can enjoy playing on the other side this time.”
Cummings scored 71 times in 149 appearances for Hibs before heading south to sign for Forest over the summer.
After four goals in 17 appearances for the former European Cup winners, new boss Aitor Karanka has let the striker move on with Rangers having an option to sign Cummings permanently in the summer if he impresses on loan.
The 22-year-old won his first cap for Scotland in November’s friendly with Holland at Pittodrie.
Cummings is likely to make his Rangers debut when they face Highland League minnows Fraserburgh in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on Sunday.
In other Rangers news, this international is expected to undergo a medical with the Gers on Tuesday.
