'No structure,' 'Tactically inept' - MotD pundit rips into Wenger as Arsenal flounder

TalkSport co-host and Match of the Day pundit Danny Murphy has slaughtered Arsene Wenger’s coaching methods and warned that while he remains of Arsenal the situation would only get ‘worse and worse.’
The former Liverpool midfielder let rip on the Gunners boss during an interview on the TalkSport Jim White show and Murphy did not hold back his feelings regarding the decline of the north Londoners.
Not only did the ex-England international scoff at any suggestions that Wenger’s side could win the Europa League – put to him by Sol Campbell – but he laid into the Frenchman’s tactics, player management, and recruitment.
“All the money he’s made the club, he’s losing it season on season in now cause they’re losing hundreds of millions on the players they keep letting get out of contract,” Murphy said live on air and added, “No structure, recruitment’s poor.”
“(Granit) Xhaka for £30million’s not a holding midfielder and never has been. He’s losing them games and points because he can’t run.
“They’re not coaching, they’re tactically inept, and while he (Wenger) stays in charge they are going to get worse and worse.
“They are all over the place away from home. They’ve got nothing. They’ve no leaders, no fighters, no nothing.”
Wenger was also on the receiving end of criticism from Sol Campbell during the show.
The ex-Spurs captain stopped short of insisting the Frenchman had to go but did acknowledge that unless the Gunners won the Europa League, the powers that be would have to take a look at the situation going forward.
Murphy’s public onslaught of Wenger came on the back of Arsenal’s shock defeat against Bournemouth in the south coast on Sunday.
The Gunners lost 2-1 defeat despite going ahead and without the inspiration of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil going forward, looked clueless in attack.
It was the first time that Bournemouth have beaten Arsenal and saw the Gunners fall eight points behind Liverpool in fourth.
