Norwich City agree Johannes Hoff Thorup deal – sources
Norwich City have agreed a deal with Johannes Hoff Thorup to take over from David Wagner as their manager, sources have told Football Insider.
Formal negotiations are now being held with FC Nordsjaelland from Monday over a compensation deal to release the 35-year-old from his contract.
As exclusively revealed by Football Insider on 21 May, Norwich had reached the advanced talks stage with Thorup, before his work permit was officially approved on 24 May.
The club have talked to other managers, including interviews at the end of last week, but are now finalising a deal with Thorup.
Negotiations with his club remain the final hurdle before he can take over at Carrow Road.

Wagner was sacked after a heavy 4-0 defeat to Leeds United in the playoffs as he once again failed to achieve the club’s primary target of earning promotion to the Premier League.
There had been speculation for months leading to his dismissal, before a late run of form saw them qualify for the playoffs by finishing 6th, but they were knocked out in the semi-final.
Football Insider revealed on 18 May that Norwich were looking to make a quick appointment and were in talks with an overseas candidate.
Thorup has been involved in management with FC Nordsjaelland since 2015 when he became manager of their youth side.
He later became the assistant manager of the senior team under Flemming Pedersen in 2021, and then succeeded the manager after his departure in January 2023.
The 35-year-old guided the team to a second-placed finish last season and finished just five points shy of the title this year after 18 months in charge.
