Sources: Plymouth Argyle agree to sign Norwich City defender Bali Mumba

Plymouth Argyle have agreed to sign Norwich City defender Bali Mumba, Football Insider understands.

The 20-year-old former England youth international spent the second half of last season on loan in the Championship with Peterborough.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Plymouth have reached a full agreement with Norwich to sign Mumba on loan.

The Canaries are willing to loan out Mumba again as he is unlikely to get too many first-team opportunities next season.

Mumba, who is under contract until 2025, played the first 45 minutes of Norwich’s 4-0 friendly win over Dereham Town last Friday (1 July).

He has not played competitively for the Canaries since a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool in the third round of the League Cup in 2021-22.

The young defender has turned out nine times in total for the Carrow Road side.

He made 10 appearances for Peterborough as they were relegated to League One 2021-22.

He will become the eighth player to leave Norwich this summer.

The likes of Josip Drmic and Lukas Rupp have departed on a permanent basis after the expiry of their contracts.

Plymouth meanwhile have added winger Mickel Miller and defensive midfielder Matt Butcher to their garrison.

Steven Schumacker, who replaced Ryan Lowe following his departure to Preston North End in December last year, is hoping to improve on a 7th-place finish in his first full season in the dugout at Home Park.
