‘Norwich close to completing Bristol City raid with highly-rated trio set to depart’
Norwich City are set to make a massive statement in the Championship, securing the services of a Bristol City trio.
The Canaries finished 13th in the second tier this season, 11 points behind the Robins, who clinched the last play-off spot in sixth.
However, Bristol City were comprehensively beaten by Sheffield United in the semi-final, losing 3-0 in both the home and away legs.
In the first leg, Rob Dickie was sent off on the verge of half-time, for a last man challenge on Kieffer Moore, and City never recovered.
The Blades were beaten by Sunderland in the play-off final, meaning the Black Cats join Leeds and Burnley in the Premier League.

Norwich complete Bristol City raid
With two games remaining of the campaign, Norwich sacked Johannes Hoff Thorup, appointing Jack Wilshere on an interim basis.
Now though, they look to have secured a more permanent appointment, and someone who will lead them into next season.
According to Bristol Live (30 May), Norwich are set to appoint Liam Manning as their new manager and are close to a compensation package agreement with the Robins, expected to be in the region of £800,000.
As part of the deal, Chris Hogg and James Krause will also make the switch to Norfolk.
Hogg was Manning’s assistant head coach at both MK Dons and Oxford United, while Krause is a first-team analyst at Ashton Gate.

Norwich set eyes on promotion
Football Insider Verdict
This news will come as a huge shock to many, not least Bristol City fans who saw Manning guide their side to their most successful campaign in 17 years.
It is a huge coup for Norwich to secure the services of the 39-year-old, as he was thought of as one of the best managers in the league last season.
The Canaries have been stuck in the Championship since they were relegated from the top-flight three years ago, coming 13th twice.
In 2023/24, the Norfolk-based side managed to clinch a play-off place, finishing sixth, but they were beaten in the semi-finals by Leeds.
If the appointment of Manning is confirmed, Norwich will be expected at the very least to be reaching the top six next season, with automatic promotion not out of the question.
