'Man up or ship out' - Celtic fans react as 25-year-old gives update on future
By Will Butcher
Celtic fans on Twitter are happy to see Erik Sviatchenko leave the club in the summer after he complained of a lack of game time.
The defender told Danish news outlet BT that the situation is not “ideal” and he would be looking to “deal with it” in the near future in order to maintain regular first-team football.
Sviatchenko, 25, has fallen down the pecking order under manager Brendan Rodgers since the turn of the year following the resurgence of Belgium international Dedryck Boyata.
Boyata has teamed up with Croat Jozo Simunovic, leaving Sviatchenko to warm the bench on Parkhead with the summer transfer window looming.
The Sun claimed in January that Premier League duo Leicester and Southampton were considering moves for the Hoops’ number 28, but the Denmark star decided to remain.

Celtic fans reacted on Twitter by stating they would be happy with the sale of the former FC Midtjylland centre-back, with manager Brendan Rodgers set to remould his squad in the coming months.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Sell him and buy Liam Lindsay.

Sviatchenko and Boyata are both below average for our level

Doesn't deserve to play. Been poor. Reading of the game poor and is more interested in playing the man instead of concentrating on the ball.

Tough man up or ship out. Can be very good can be very slack . Consistent fouls when made to turn

The Bhoy does not deserve to be playing. His distribution is exceptionally poor, lacks pace and commits too many fouls!!!!
