Leeds United fans took to Twitter to rave about Eunan O’Kane in the wake of their team’s 5-0 hammering of Burton Albion on Saturday afternoon.
A Pierre-Michel Lasogga debut double and goals from Kalvin Phillips, Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe secured a memorable and comprehensive win at Elland Road.
Central midfielder O’Kane did not get on the scoresheet but supporters were in no doubt about the value of his contribution.
The Republic of Ireland international, 27, struggled to get in the team in the final months of last season when ex-manager Garry Monk preferred Liam Bridcutt and Ronaldo Vieira as his central midfield pairing.
But O’Kane justified his place as a first-choice under Thomas Christiansen with another impressive display in the midfield anchorman role on Saturday.
Many fans were unsure of the Irishman last season but is now winning them over with his performances in the new campaign.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Eunan O’Kane my MOTM despite being off the pitch already. I’ve always rated him but he’s unplayable at the moment. #lufc

O’Kane is the unsung hero of this side. Plays as both a third CB and a playmaker linking back to front. #lufc.
