Nottingham Forest fans stunned by what Gary Neville & Carragher said live on air
Nottingham Forest fans were taken aback by Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher’s upbeat comments about their transformed team on Friday night.
Chris Wood’s derby double sent Nottingham Forest up to fifth in the Premier League after a dominant 3-1 win at Leicester City.
The striker seized on two second-half mistakes to punish his former club and take his league goal tally to seven this season as Forest secured the three points that takes them above Chelsea and Tottenham in the table, while they are also clear of Man United and Newcastle.
Neville insisted after the match live on Sky Sports that Forest “are going to be in the top half of the table, which is where they should be”.
He insisted Forest are a “great club” who made a big impression on his childhood, while Carragher added that he had changed his mind on the east Midlands club following their transformation under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Neville in particular has some history with Forest after his call last season for their adviser Mark Clattenburg to resign from the club.
The pundit made the comment on Sky Sports after Forest accused VAR Stuart Attwell of being a Luton Town fan following their 2-0 loss to Everton on Sunday (21 April).

Nuno Espirito Santo’s outfit were denied a series of penalties in their defeat at Goodison Park, which leaves them just a point outside the relegation zone.
Former Premier League official Clattenburg had been working as a refereeing consultant at Forest, joining in February, before he eventually stepped down.
Fans of the Nottingham club have not forgotten Neville’s comments and serenaded him before Friday night’s match with some four-letter barbs.
Supporters subsequently turned to social media to express their surprise about the comments made by the Liverpool and Man United legends.
