Nuno Espirito Santo has firepower to avoid West Ham relegation after deal agreed
Nuno Espirito Santo has enough attacking options at his disposal to ensure West Ham United avoid relegation to the Championship.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, after it was reported that striker Callum Wilson had agreed a new one-year deal to remain at the London Stadium.
West Ham signed forwards Valentin Castellanos and Pablo Felipe in January, whilst Crysencio Summerville’s upturn in form has helped Nuno’s side move level on points with 17th-placed Nottingham Forest.
Remaining in the Premier League is crucial for West Ham financially, after the club recorded a £104million loss in their latest accounts, and with the drop in revenue that would come from being in the Championship.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – this West Ham fans are getting behind the team in their survival bid compared to rivals Tottenham.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes Nuno has a good enough strike force to stay in the Premier League.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “He’s got his two new forwards that they’ve signed at West Ham as well. So he’s got some options there. But I think that, yeah, I think Callum would say, okay, I’ll finish the season strong for you.
“We’ll try and avoid relegation, but I do want a deal for next year, and it seems like he’s got it. I think Nuno has now got as good an armoury as he can possibly get to try and evade the drop.
“And so far they’re showing signs that they’re fighting hard. And I think the West Ham fans, unlike a lot of the Spurs fans, are starting to rally behind the team and giving them support. And I think Callum Wilson’s accepted as being one of the players that the fans are getting behind as well.”

Nuno Espirito Santo has firm Mateus Fernandes stance
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Nuno would be unhappy at the West Ham board if he was forced to sell key players in the summer transfer window.
Nuno particularly does not want to lose midfielder Mateus Fernandes, but relegation could force the Hammers into a sale.
Fernandes has started 26 of West Ham’s 29 Premier League matches this season, contributing three goals and three assists.
