Nuno Mendes exceptional, Bradley Barcola flops – PSG ratings v Inter Miami

Paris Saint-Germain were at their sparkling best, as they beat Inter Miami 4-0 to reach the Club World Cup quarter-finals in the United States.

The Champions League winners ran riot in the first 45 minutes, taking a four-goal lead into the half-time break, before ringing the changes in the second period.

A Joao Neves brace started the party for Luis Enrique’s side, before a Tomas Aviles own goal and a Achraf Hakimi strike ensured they would progress with ease.

PSG join the likes of Chelsea in the last eight, after Enzo Maresca’s side beat Benfica in a weather-delayed contest on Saturday evening.

Nuno Mendes shows why he’s the world’s best

Gianluigi Donnarumma – 6

Donnarumma, who has been linked with Manchester City, barely had anything to do throughout the contest, making one good save from Lionel Messi in the second half.

Achraf Hakimi (Off for Kang-In 69′) – 8

The full-back managed to get himself on the scoresheet late in the first period and had very few defensive worries in the game.

Marquinhos (Off for Beraldo 46′) – 6

The Brazilian will never have an easier match. Marquinhos strolled through the first half, and was then taken off for a rest for the second period.

William Pacho – 6

Struggled slightly more without Marquinhos next to him, but after half-time, PSG had taken their foot off the gas.

Nuno Mendes (Off for Hernandez 69′) – 9 – Man of the Match

Mendes proved in the Champions League final last month that he is the best left-back in world football, and the Portugal international was once again superb. He drew countless fouls with his surges forward, showing pace and power to leave defenders in his wake.

PSG midfield shows their class

Vitinha – 8

The Portuguese star controlled the game throughout, and popped up with an early assist for good measure, picking out Neves with a sublime free-kick.

Joao Neves (Off for Dembele 61′) – 9

The 20-year-old doesn’t score many goals, but he managed to find the net twice in just over half an hour against Inter Miami. His first was a header at the back post, before he finished off a sublime passing move.

Fabian Ruiz (Off for Zaire-Emery 46′) – 7

Ruiz thought he’d got himself on the scoresheet midway through the first half, but it was ruled out for offside. The midfielder was given a rest by Enrique at half-time.

Desire Doue – 7

With so many goals flying in, Doue will be disappointed not to get in on the action. The youngster did see his cross turned into the net by Inter Miami defender Aviles.

Barcola wasteful in front of goal

Bradley Barcola – 5

While no PSG player played badly, the 22-year-old was perhaps slightly below par, spurning a number of good opportunities in front of goal. Liverpool have been linked with Barcola, but they won’t have been impressed by this performance.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – 7

On the left-hand side with Mendes, Kvaratskhelia ran riot, often getting the better of the Inter Miami backline.

Substitutes

Warren Zaire-Emery (On for Ruiz 46′) – 7

Came on at half-time with the game already won, and helped the French champions see out the contest.

Lucas Beraldo (On for Marquinhos 46′) – 6

There was a noticeable drop-off in defensive stability when Marquinhos was replaced, but it had no impact on the result.

Ousmane Dembele (On for Neves 61′) – 7

It was a bit of a shock that the Frenchman didn’t start for PSG, but they cruised through the game without needing their star man.

Lee Kang-In (On for Hakimi 69′) – 6

Looked bright and energetic after coming on, but couldn’t add a goal to his performance.

Lucas Hernandez (On for Mendes 69′) – 6

Introduced for the final 20 minutes to give the excellent Mendes a rest.
