Odds slashed: Celtic installed second favourites to sign Liverpool attacker

By Harry Sykes

Celtic have been installed as the second favourites to sign Liverpool striker Danny Ings, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.

Sky Bet priced the Scottish treble winners at 7/1 on Tuesday night to prise the forward from Anfield before the summer transfer window shut this month.

Celtic are behind only Premier League club Burnley, who are 7/2 favourites to sign the striker they sold to the Merseysiders two years ago, in the betting running, while Newcastle are 8/1.

Ings, 25, is working his way back to match fitness after recovering from a second serious knee injury in two years.

He began his Liverpool career in impressive fashion with three goals in five matches but has only been able to accumulate 11 appearances for the club.
