Celtic are in the running to sign Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet priced the Scottish giants as third favourites at 8/1 on Tuesday night to land the forward, 24, by Thursday night’s deadline.
Premier League club Swansea (7/1) are narrowly in pole position to sign Afobe, ahead of Championship outfit Wolves (15/2).
Afobe’s future is in doubt at Bournemouth, where he is vying with the prolific Josh King and summer signing Jermain Defoe for a starting place.
Nevertheless, the former Wolves striker has started two of the Cherries’ three Premier League matches this season.
Afobe has scored 10 goals in 52 matches for Bournemouth since signing in January 2016 from Wolves, where he netted 23 times in 48 appearances.
Celtic could be in the market for a late striker deal after it emerged that Moussa Dembele has suffered a setback in his recovery from the hamstring injury that has kept him out for the first month of the season.
In other Celtic transfer news, a BBC commentator has claimed the club will be in Europe post-Christmas if they sign this player by Thursday night.
