Odds slashed: Former West Ham midfielder among two favourites to replace Nuno
West Ham are increasingly likely to dismiss Nuno Espirito Santo in the next days after a shocking display against Wolves.
Premier League bottom-club Wolves beat West Ham 3-0 on Saturday, to claim their first league win of the season.
Jhon Arias, Hee-Chan Hwang and Mateus Mane all scored for the home side, in what was an utterly embarrassing performance by Nuno‘s side.
The Londoners are now now seriously considering sacking Nuno, just over three months after he replaced Graham Potter at the London Stadium.
Slavan Bilic is the favourite to take over, with several other names set to be in the running over the coming days.

Odds slashed as former Hammer eyes return
West Ham fans have been supportive of the potential return of Bilic, with the Croatian having enjoyed a positive stint with the Hammers previously.
The 57-year-old led his side to a seventh-place finish in the 2015-16 Premier League season, and guided them through the transitional move to the London Stadium.
Since leaving West Ham, Bilic has managed Al-Ittihad, West Brom, Beijing Guoan, Watford and Al-Fateh.
His most recent appointment lasted just a year, and was ended by mutual agreement after the Croatian had won just 13 of 36 games with Saudi Pro League side Al-Fateh.
But Bilic is not the only man in the running to replace Nuno, should he be dismissed in the coming days.
| West Ham – Next manager | Odds |
| Slaven Bilic | 4/6 |
| Michael Carrick | 2/1 |
| Gary O’Neil | 8/1 |
| Frank Lampard | 14/1 |
| Gareth Southgate | 16/1 |
One major bookmaker has slashed odds on former Hammers midfielder Michael Carrick being named as the next boss to just 2/1, while Bilic retains favourite status at 4/6.
What Michael Carrick said about the West Ham job when he was previously linked
Carrick enjoyed a transformative impact at Middlesbrough when he was appointed in 2022, leading a relegation-threatened team all the way to the play-offs.
Boro’s following two seasons under the former midfielder were not as impressive, and he was eventually sacked at the end of last season.
The 44-year-old was linked with the Irons job in 2023, and said: “I started at West Ham, I know David Moyes well & have huge respect for him.

“I played for him. It’s hugely unfair for me to comment. I hope West Ham have a fantastic end to the season with David in charge.
“West Ham is a fantastic club and David is a great man – I really wish them all the success.”
Carrick may well have an opportunity to play a direct hand in any potential success, but should he be appointed, his immediate task will be to earn the club some points.
