‘Off you pop’ – West Ham fans tear into ‘selfish prima-donna’ Lucas Paqueta after transfer latest
West Ham fans are fuming at a new report which claims that star midfielder Lucas Paqueta wants to leave the club to return to Brazil this month.
Paqueta has been one of West Ham‘s top performers over the last few years, despite off-field issues, with 139 appearances for the club since a 2022 move from Lyon.
Aston Villa were interested in Paqueta in the summer, but he remained at the London Stadium and confirmed his commitment to the Irons with a celebration that saw him slam an imaginary phone down after scoring against Nottingham Forest in August.
The Hammers have seriously struggled this season, however, and Paqueta has been unable to keep them out of the relegation zone ahead of a huge few months as they battle to survive.
Football Insider revealed last month that Paqueta is on the radar of numerous top clubs ahead of a possible January move, and he could well leave West Ham soon after a new development.

Paqueta wants to leave West Ham to return to Brazil this month
Football Insider previously revealed that West Ham will block Paqueta’s potential exit in January because of his high-profile status within their squad.
He has made 18 Premier League appearances this season, but has not hit his previous heights and was sent off for dissent against Liverpool in November.
According to a new report from talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Paqueta wants to leave West Ham this month, after he was left out of their squad to face QPR in the FA Cup on Sunday.
The Brazil international is believed to be keen to return to his homeland after three-and-a-half years at the London Stadium, with Flamengo interested in his services.
Hammers boss Nuno Espirito Santo is reportedly keen to keep him at the club amid a relegation battle, but his view is not one that is shared by the majority of their supporters.
West Ham fans fume at Paqueta and urge the club to sell him after latest update
Paqueta’s conduct has let him down this season, but he is still one of the Hammers’ most talented players and is set to be key to their chances of survival come May.
It comes as little surprise to know that Nuno wants to retain his services, but many West Ham fans would be happy to see him go now that reports have emerged around his desire to depart.
Taking to X, one fan said: “Paqueta (is) clearly not up for the fight, off you pop to Brazil then,” with several waving emojis.
While another said: “If Paqueta is open to leaving, get him gone. (We) need players who want to be here and want to fight. He has a rainbow flick but 0 fight. Reinvest. Right now he’s non-existent, we need players.“
And one fan added: “I feel that we all expected more from him. Turned out to be an expensive show pony with very few tricks. He’s just been a selfish prima-donna that screwed his own career.“
