'Masterclass incoming' - Chelsea fans react on Twitter as 24-year-old misses Man United clash

By Matt Bullin

Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to react as Thibaut Courtois misses the match today with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

It was widely reported that the 24-year-old Belgian would miss this afternoon’s match with an ankle injury sustained in training.

Courtois has been a regular between the sticks for the Blues this term and has made 32 appearances in all competitions, keeping 14 clean sheets.

Bosnian ‘keeper Asmir Begovic comes in to replace the Belgian having only made six cup appearances this season.

If Chelsea beat United at Old Trafford they will stretch the gap between them and the chasing Tottenham to seven points.

If Jose Mourinho’s side claim the three points they will move fifth and heap further pressure on their top-four rivals.

Chelsea fans were understandably distraught to see Courtois miss out, although one consolation is that United’s star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is only fit to start from the bench after complaining of tiredness.

Here is a selection of their Tweets:

A few Chelsea fans were happy that their back-up is solid and looked forward to seeing a masterclass from the stand-in.
