Oliver Glasner could sell ‘amazing’ Crystal Palace star who ‘the fans love’
Oliver Glasner will make the final decision about the future of Jesurun Rak-Sakyi after he failed to secure a move away from Crystal Palace in the transfer window.
Rak-Sakyi, 22, was a top target for Rangers alongside a number of Championship clubs including Sheffield United and Coventry on transfer deadline day.
As I recently revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Rak-Sakyi’s future will depend on his role at Palace between now and January.
Having been named in the Eagles’ UEFA Conference League squad, the winger may be given the chance to impress with rotation set to be key for Palace.
However, sources say the academy graduate is not part of the manager’s plans for the upcoming season and is down the pecking order at Selhurst Park.
This comes after Football Insider first revealed in July that Crystal Palace wanted to sell Rak-Sakyi permanently despite considering a loan bid from Rangers.

Crystal Palace to make Jesurun Rak-Sakyi decision in January
Football Insider revealed on 5 September that Crystal Palace will listen to offers for Rak-Sakyi when the mid-season window arrives.
So far this term, the winger has failed to make an appearance for Palace despite their lack of squad depth and having played two European qualifiers against Fredrikstad.
Ismaila Sarr, Yeremy Pino, Romain Esse, Daichi Kamada and Justin Devenny have all featured so far in the attacking midfield roles this season, leaving little space for Rak-Sakyi.
Speaking on the Inside Track Podcast, I explained: “It’s a strange one with Rak-Sakyi.
“He came through the academy at Crystal Palace and the fans love him.
“He looked amazing at academy level, then went on loan to Charlton and had a really good spell there, but he seems to have stagnated a little bit since then.
“His Sheffield United stint was a mixed spell really, he didn’t pull up any trees.

“From what I’m told, he doesn’t figure in Oliver Glasner’s plans.
“A lot could depend on what happens between now and January, and whether he gets the opportunity to play more regularly for Palace.
“He hasn’t featured so far this season and is far down the pecking order in his position.
“But it might be a case of waiting to see whether he can break into the manager’s plans, or maybe if there are injuries he’ll be given the chance to impress.
“At the moment though, I think it’s more likely they look to move him on in January.”
Liverpool in ‘open dialogue’ with Marc Guehi
Another player who was widely expected to leave Palace before missing out is Marc Guehi, who saw a deadline day move to Liverpool collapse at the last minute.
Football Insider revealed on 7 September that Guehi could now join Liverpool in January, as the Reds have maintained an open dialogue with the England defender.

Glasner personally intervened to prevent Guehi’s sale after the two clubs agreed a £35million transfer fee, as he would have been left with no replacement.
As a result, Football Insider revealed that Crystal Palace fear Glasner could quit upon the expiry of his contract next year and join a Premier League rival.
