Oliver Glasner is not at risk of being sacked by Crystal Palace despite growing tensions between the manager and the supporters at Selhurst Park.

After a 0-0 draw with Leeds United last time out, the Eagles have won just three home games in the Premier League all season and have scored just 14 goals from 15 games.

That comes on top of a frustrating Conference League campaign which recently saw another 0-0 draw as Palace hosted AEK Larnaca in the round of 16.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Palace are hopeful of success under Glasner despite the frustrations amongst the fanbase.

Glasner is set to leave the club at the end of what has proved to be a turbulent season in South London, and Crystal Palace’s managerial search is already underway.

Could Crystal Palace sack Oliver Glasner?

Football Insider revealed last month that Crystal Palace will not sack Glasner, having made their final decision over his future, with plans now being made for the summer.

Palace’s home form, particularly in the Premier League, has raised new concerns but fans have been told to remain patience as they target Conference League success.

“It’s clear to see why the fans are frustrated,” Brown told Football Insider.

“Tensions are clearly there with Oliver Glasner, I’m not convinced he’s happy and the fans are starting to get frustrated with him as well.

“Then, going into the game against Leeds, he’s made these changes obviously with one eye on playing in Europe, but then they go and draw 0-0 against ten men.

“I think it’s fine to plan for European games and rest your players if you’re safe in the Premier League, and I think Palace are.

“So I don’t think there’s going to be any rush to get rid of the manager, because their aim for the season is to win the Conference League, that’s how he will be judged.

“But there’s no doubt it’s not the happiest place to be at the moment and I’m not sure it’s something that can just be resolved when the fans aren’t happy.”

Who could become the next Crystal Palace manager?

Glasner announced in January that he would step down as manager at the end of the season, despite some hope he could sign a new contract.

However, the Eagles have been working to assess managerial candidates since before the boss confirmed he would be leaving, and are now accelerating their plans.

Getafe manager Jose Bordalas is on Palace’s radar, while they have also considered Raya Vallecano’s Inigo Perez among a number of potential targets.

Meanwhile, Football Insider exclusively revealed on 21 February that Crystal Palace want Gareth Southgate to take over on an interim basis if they sack Glasner.

Palace were hopeful that Southgate’s affiliation with the club could be enough to lure him in, but they have no plans to make a change as things stand.
