Oliver Glasner in the frame for Colombia appointment as Crystal Palace work on deal
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is being linked with a surprise switch to take charge of the Colombian national team.
According to AS in Colombia, the nation’s footballing federation have several directors who are admirers of the Austrian and “like him a lot.”
The 51-year-old has been earmarked as an ideal candidate to become their next appointment after this summer’s World Cup, unless they enjoy a deep run in the tournament.
Glasner is under huge pressure at Crystal Palace after overseeing a run of just one win in their last 15 games in all competitions, and they are still just seven points clear of the Premier League’s relegation zone.

Crystal Palace told to sack Oliver Glasner ‘ASAP’
Glasner’s position has been under serious scrutiny at Selhurst Park in recent weeks, as his team’s poor run of form has brought about the possibility of him being sacked prematurely ahead of his planned summer exit.
Talk of the former Eintracht Frankfurt boss being shown the door has heightened once again following the 1-1 draw with Bosnian side Zrinjski Mostar on Thursday night, and Glasner hit the headlines with some self-deprecating post-match comments.
The boss has heaped blame upon himself for the recent poor form, and Gabby Agbonlahor believes that should be the final straw for Steve Parish and the club hierarchy.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Friday, the ex-Aston Villa striker suggested that Glasner should be given the boot “ASAP’ after his latest comments, as he felt the ownership would be left with no choice but to sack him.
The Austrian appears set to still be in charge of the team for Sunday’s game at home to Wolves, but an adverse result could easily spell the end for his time at the helm in South London.
Crystal Palace work on Gareth Southgate appointment
Football Insider revealed on Saturday that Palace are working on a deal to bring in Gareth Southgate on an interim basis until the end of the season.
The former England boss has been identified as an ideal candidate to take the reins at Selhurst on a short-term basis, if they ultimately decide to part ways with Glasner in the near future.
The club hierarchy are understood to be aware that the fans have turned on Glasner, and Southgate has emerged as a potential solution to help get them back on side.
Southgate made over 100 appearances for the Eagles during his playing career, and they are hopeful that his connection to the club could be enough to tempt him to return as manager.
