Oliver Glasner reveals what he told Steve Parish behind the scenes about Crystal Palace future
Crystal Palace fans are living in dreamland with Oliver Glasner at the helm, yet his future at Selhurst Park is far from being secure.
In the past 12 months, the Eagles have experienced an incredible trajectory, going from a team locked in mid-table to one that harbours ambitions of winning the Europa Conference League.
Palace won the FA Cup in May 2025, qualifying for Europe, with Glasner’s status in South London skyrocketing.
However, after achieving the unthinkable, it’s no surprise that there are fears Glasner could leave Crystal Palace.
The Austrian has done an incredible job at Selhurst Park, and they’re currently sixth in the Premier League after losing 2-1 to Everton last time out.

Oliver Glasner discussing Crystal Palace future
Football Insider revealed on September 30 that Crystal Palace must match Glasner’s ambitions if they want him to agree a new contract.
The 51-year-old sees his current deal expire in June 2026, and with Glasner drawing interest from Manchester United and other clubs, time is of the essence.

Speaking ahead of Palace’s clash against Bournemouth this weekend, the former Eintracht Frankfurt boss revealed that talks over his future will end once his vision for the future is aligned with Steve Parish.
"If we can find the same goal for Crystal Palace we will end the talks"

“What we are always discussing is how we can or how we think we have the best chance that we can continue this pathway and Oliver Glasner doesn’t have the final solution, and Steve Parish doesn’t have,” Glasner said.
“But when we discuss about it, what’s possible, we can do and working together and having a relationship together just makes sense if we have the same goals, if we have the same vision.
“Because otherwise, you can’t be successful. Whatever it is, in any company, if the two leaders have different visions, they go their separate ways and then you can’t achieve your goal, and that’s what we are talking about. If we can find the same goal for Crystal Palace, we will end the talks.”

What Steve Parish has said about Glasner’s future
Crystal Palace are often seen as a stepping stone club. During the summer, Eberechi Eze joined Arsenal after firing his side to the FA Cup, seeing the switch as an opportunity to play in the Champions League and compete for the league title.
Glasner will also see it similarly if the owner doesn’t back him, and Parish has already expressed his willingness to align his interests.
“It’s about everything being in a way that he enjoys his work and he finds the conditions favourable to achieve,” Parish told talkSPORT earlier this week.
“Oliver wants to win things, he makes no secret of that. That’s what he’s in football for. So if we can align those interests then hopefully we can make something happen.”
Time is ticking for the pair to agree terms, but hopefully, Glasner receives enough backing from Parish to commit his future to the club.
