‘Oliver Glasner set for talks as Crystal Palace’s four best players could go’
Oliver Glasner is set for crunch talks with the Crystal Palace board amid speculation linking him with the RB Leipzig and Tottenham jobs.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the boss will seek assurances about his backing in the transfer window.
Meanwhile, with a number of key players linked with moves away from Selhurst Park, Glasner is keen for the club to do all they can to keep his squad together.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Glasner would be tempted by RB Leipzig’s offer and the size of the job could prove difficult to turn down.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 10 April that Glasner is preparing for contract talks at Palace, and is currently happy at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles are keen to ensure the manager remains happy and will sit down at the end of the season to discuss their long-term plans with him at the helm.

Oliver Glasner to demand transfer backing at Crystal Palace
Brown told Football Insider in March that Palace will hold contract talks with Glasner following the shock departure of Dougie Freedman.
Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience working closely with elite managers including the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson for over a decade at Man United, insisted that Freedman’s departure will have raised the boss’ concerns.
“His future will depend on whether he’s happy at Palace,” he told Football Insider.
“Is he confident that he can continue to get this level of performance out of the players he’s got?
“He’s done a brilliant job there, they’re pushing up the league and into the FA Cup semi-finals, but it’s about whether that is sustainable.
“Now, the problem he’s facing this summer is he could lose three or four of his best players.
“The likes of Jean-Philippe Mateta, Adam Wharton, Marc Guehi, and Eberechi Eze could all go.
“Of course, they might not lose those players, but that’s something for the club to decide with the manager.
“From his perspective, he’s going to want to strengthen this squad with new signings, so Dougie Freedman’s decision to leave will have come as a blow.
“So they’re going to sit down at the end of the season and all of this will be worked out between them.
“Glasner will want assurances that the board will support him in the transfer market by bringing in two or three players who are going to improve his squad.
“On top of that, they need to be seen to be doing all they can to keep their best players at the club.
“If they can hold on to the likes of Mateta, Wharton, Eze, then I’m sure Glasner will look and think there’s still progress that can be made with this squad.
“If they can’t offer him assurances in the transfer market, and they feel some of their best players will leave, he’ll be considering those other job offers.”

Tottenham eye Eberechi Eze signing after Postecoglou claim
One player heavily linked with a move away from Crystal Palace this summer is Eze, who has again attracted interest from some of the Premier League’s top clubs.
Brown told Football Insider on 5 April that Tottenham want to sign Eze and could meet the £60million release clause in his deal at Selhurst Park.
The midfielder has been a long-term target for Ange Postecoglou’s side after Football Insider revealed in May 2024 that Tottenham and Man City were watching Eze.
However, Palace are determined not to lose their star man this summer as he remains a crucial member of Glasner’s squad and starting XI.
