‘Oliver Glasner to demand transfer cash from Crystal Palace to snub Tottenham exit’
Oliver Glasner will be questioning Crystal Palace’s ambitions after being linked with a move to Tottenham, according to ex-Eagles chief Simon Jordan.
The Austrian manager has just a year left on his contract with the Eagles, having joined in February 2024.
Having consistently outperformed expectations during his time at Selhurst Park, other clubs including RB Leipzig are now interested in Glasner.
Crystal Palace were previously confident about keeping Glasner, but with several key players set to leave the club this summer, the Austrian may wonder whether Palace are willing to support his ambitions this summer, Jordan posited on talkSPORT.

Tottenham may look to Oliver Glasner if Ange Postecoglou creates vacancy
When asked about the rumours linking Glasner to Tottenham, Jordan highlighted the leverage that would give to the Austrian, should he choose to remain at Selhurst Park, saying: “The fact is, Glasner’s a good manager, and if there’s a vacancy at Tottenham Hotspur because Ange Postecoglou ‘creates’ one, because he’ll create the vacancy.
“Because if Tottenham get booted out of the Europa League and finish 14th in the Premier League, I’m not sure he’s gonna get a pat on the back. He’s gonna get a kick up the jacksie.”
Oliver Glasner managerial career | From | To | Win percentage |
SV Ried | 2014 | 2015 | 35.14 |
LASK Linz | 2015 | 2019 | 58.39 |
Vfl Wolfsburg | 2019 | 2021 | 47.13 |
Eintracht Frankfurt | 2021 | 2023 | 39.18 |
Crystal Palace | 2024- | Present | 49.02 |
Jordan continued: “I’d like to think that Glasner would stay, but it will strengthen his arm, if Palace want him to stay, then they’ve got to give him something.
“I don’t just mean more money, I mean, where’s the ambition? ‘If you want me to stay, which I’m prepared to do because I recognise you gave me the opportunity, are you gonna give me a transfer fund that means I can push this team up to the European spots?'”
Crystal Palace must convince key players to remain to keep Oliver Glasner
Football Insider Verdict
Should Palace want to retain Glasner’s services this summer, which they undoubtedly do, retaining key players will be crucial.
Marc Guehi seems destined to leave, but Adam Wharton, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eberechi Eze’s futures still seem up in the air.
Wharton is still young and could be convinced that his long-term development is better served playing regularly, as opposed to sitting on the bench for a bigger team.

Eze is an unbelievable talent, and despite the fact Thomas Tuchel seems keen to select players playing for bigger sides, the 26-year-old has featured consistently for England, enough so that keeping him for at least another year should be feasible.
Mateta, however, may be trickier to retain this summer. The Frenchman has blossomed into one of the Premier League’s most dangerous front-men, but the lack of quality strikers on the market currently would allow him the opportunity to move to a side who may not have previously considered him as an option, such as Arsenal.
