Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers respond to Marco Asensio as Aston Villa exit beckons
Marco Asensio had an update for the Aston Villa supporters as his future at the club edges closer to a conclusion.
The Spaniard arrived at Villa Park on loan during the January transfer window, alongside Marcus Rashford and Axel Disasi, and quickly became a fan favourite after making an immediate impact.
Asensio delivered in key moments for Aston Villa, scoring important goals both domestically and in the Champions League, particularly against Club Brugge.
However, his influence began to fade as the season progressed, managing just one goal in his final eight Premier League appearances.
Football Insider revealed Aston Villa now have doubts about making Asensio’s move permanent, with concerns arising over the financial commitment required to complete the deal.
While the club have yet to make an official decision, the uncertainty surrounding his future continues and amid the speculation, Asensio shared a post for the fans.

Marco Asensio sends message as Aston Villa loan spell draws to a close
Asensio shared a series of photos on Instagram, including personal snapshots and images from Aston Villa’s end-of-season awards night, where Youri Tielemans was named the club’s Player of the Year.
His post received plenty of support from teammates, with Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers, and fellow loanee Rashford all liking the post.
His arrival in January made an immediate impression, and many Aston Villa fans were calling for the club to sign Asensio permanently.
But with his dip in form late in the season and the financial demands of a permanent deal, that move now appears increasingly unlikely.
Villa’s failure to qualify for the Champions League following a controversial final-day defeat to Manchester United has added further pressure on the club’s finances, making high-profile signings more complicated this summer.
Marcus Rashford expected to leave Aston Villa amid Barcelona interest

Like Asensio, Rashford is also expected to depart Villa Park despite initial hopes of a longer stay. Football Insider revealed that Unai Emery was keen to keep the Rashford to lead the attack going forward.
However, the financial burden, particularly with his £300,000-a-week wages, has proven a stumbling block in negotiations.
Rashford is now eyeing a move to Barcelona, though it remains to be seen whether the Spanish club will approach Manchester United with a formal offer. Meanwhile, Villa continue to weigh up their transfer priorities as they look to balance the books ahead of next season.
