Omar Marmoush named on three-man Tottenham shortlist as Thomas Frank plans revealed ahead of January

Tottenham have now officially added Omar Marmoush to their shortlist for the upcoming January transfer window.

The Egyptian has fallen out of favour at Manchester City in the early months of the campaign and is currently away representing his country at AFCON.

Manchester City fans have been frustrated with Marmoush’s limited involvement so far this term, as he has made just two Premier League appearances since the start of the season.

The forward made a big impact at the Etihad Stadium after he arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt in January for an initial £59million, but Tottenham have now got designs on ending his spell in Manchester after just one year.

Omar Marmoush joins Samu Aghemowa on Spurs shortlist

Marmoush shone for Manchester City in their win over Brighton back in August, but he has since been unable to make a telling impact for them.

The 26-year-old has managed just 206 minutes of Premier League football all season, and that has prompted question marks surrounding his future ahead of the January window.

Tottenham are now preparing to try and exploit that uncertainty next month, and they have clearly outlined their interest in striking a deal.

The Lilywhites have now added Marmoush to their shortlist of attacking targets, according to journalist Ekrem Konur via his X account, where he features alongside Porto frontman Samu Aghehowa and Juventus starlet Kenan Yildiz.

Thomas Frank has a clear desire to bolster the attacking options at his disposal for the second half of the season, and these three players have now been outlined as the preferred targets for the North London outfit.

However, it is understood that it will likely take a significant fee in order to strike a deal for any of the trio.

Spurs’ Marmoush pursuit hinges on huge Antoine Semenyo update

Manchester City have official opened talks for Antoine Semenyo on Monday, and that will be a hugely welcome update for Frank and Co.

The capital club seemingly have no chance of their own when it comes to landing the Bournemouth star, but his move to the Etihad Stadium could set the cogs in motion for their own bid to sign Marmoush.

Semenyo has become one of the Premier League’s most sought-after talents, and as a result, there is simply no way that he will be moving to the Citizens for anything other than a starting berth.

That will force Marmoush even further down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order in the coming weeks, and also create a need to generate further cash through player sales.

The Spurs-linked star is an ideal candidate for that, and with interest ready and waiting from a club with plenty of financial capability, it could be a sensible move for City to cash in.
