Omar Marmoush’s stance on joining Tottenham revealed after Man City exit news
Omar Marmoush is not keen on a move to Tottenham despite suggestions he could be set to leave Man City in the January transfer window.
That is according to former Tottenham and Man United senior scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected at his previous clubs, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 26-year-old is unlikely to leave Man City in January.
Marmoush, who is currently at the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt, has started just four games across all competitions after falling out of favour at the Etihad.
However, there is a feeling he would prefer to stay and fight for his place under Pep Guardiola rather than making the move to a turbulent Tottenham side.
Thomas Frank‘s team are 13th in the Premier League after seven wins in 19 games, leading to uncertainty about Marmoush’s desire to make the switch while City are in a title race.

Omar Marmoush could snub Tottenham move
Brown told Football Insider on 30 December that Tottenham are considering signing Marmoush as they aim to add a new wide attacker to Frank’s squad.
However, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted there are doubts about whether the Egyptian would be open to the move.
“Tottenham are interested in signing Marmoush,” he told Football Insider.
“It’s a deal that would suit Tottenham, but I don’t know whether it would suit the player.
“It would get him more regular game time, which of course would be a benefit, but he will feel he still has a part to play at Man City.
“He did really well when he first started there, and yes Foden has come back into form and they’ve added Cherki so the team has gone on again, but he still has a role.
“Whether he would want to leave City, with the chance of winning silverware and taking part in a title race, to join an inconsistent Tottenham side is doubtful.

“They’re having fingers pointed at them from all directions, the fans aren’t happy, results haven’t been good enough, so would Marmoush swap City for that? I don’t think so.
“There are definite doubts about the move from his side of things, so they might need to look elsewhere if they want to strengthen.”
Tottenham remain interested in another Man City star
Marmoush is not the only Man City star on Spurs’ list of targets ahead of the January transfer window, as they remain strongly interested in Savinho.
Brown told Football Insider on 19 December that Man City could accept “huge” offers for Savinho in January given his reduced role in the side at the Etihad.
Despite their move for the Brazil international falling through in the summer, he was open to the move and may be considered a more likely target than Marmoush.

Guardiola does not see the winger as a regular in his starting XI, but given the interest from clubs elsewhere, he could be tempted to look for regular minutes.
Football Insider revealed in September that Savinho could push to join Tottenham in January if he does not play an increased role in the Man City side.
