Omari Hutchinson sends message after Ipswich v Man United and Patrick Dorgu clash
Ipswich Town ace Omari Hutchinson has issued a rallying cry to his club following their defeat to Man United at Old Trafford.
The Tractor Boys are battling to avoid an immediate relegation from the Premier League back to the Championship this season.
There hopes of doing that were however dealt a blow on Wednesday night (26 February) when they were beaten 3-2 by the Red Devils.
In the circumstances that will have been a particularly painful defeat for Ipswich and especially Hutchinson, although it seems he is not giving up the fight just yet.

Omari Hutchinson speaks out amid Patrick Dorgu red card
Things had started well for Hutchinson and his team in that game, as a mix-up between Patrick Dorgu and Andre Onana gifted Ipswich the opening goal just four minutes into the game.
However, Man United fought back to lead 2-1, following an own goal from Sam Morsy and Matthijs de Ligt’s close-range finish from a corner.
The game then took another twist just before half-time when, after a VAR review, Man United full-back Dorgu was sent off for a high challenge on Hutchinson that left many shocked.
Ipswich would then level in first-half stoppage time as Jaden Philogene scored his second of the game.
The winger’s cross was misread by Onana which allowed it to nestle in the bottom corner, leaving Man United fans calling for the goalkeeper to be replaced David de Gea.
Ipswich though fell behind again moments after half-time when Harry Maguire headed in a corner, and despite their man advantage, Kieran McKenna‘s side failed to find an equaliser, let alone a winner.
Premier League position | Played | Points |
17. Wolves | 27 | 22 |
18. Ipswich Town | 27 | 17 |
19. Leicester City | 27 | 17 |
20. Southampton | 27 | 9 |
They may therefore see this as an opportunity missed to give themselves a chance of avoiding relegation, although Hutchinson is not throwing in the towel just yet.
Posting on his Instagram story to reflect on that game, the winger posted an image celebrating one of his side’s goal from that clash with Man United, along with the caption: “We stick together to the very end.”

Ipswich Town facing huge challenge to avoid relegation
Football Insider Verdict
Hutchinson of course cannot be seen to be giving in while there is still a chance his side can stay up, especially given how much they paid to sign him permanently from Chelsea last summer.
However most observers will find it hard to give Ipswich much of a chance of avoiding relegation after what happened in midweek.
Up against a Man United side that have endured a shocking season, and reduced to ten men, that felt like a huge chance for McKenna’s side to pick up an important and morale-boosting three points.
They were though unable to do that, and if they cannot win in that position, it is hard to see where victories might come from.
So with a five-point gap already established between themselves and Wolves in 17th, the chances of Ipswich getting the results they need to save themselves feel rather slim.
As a result, this could be a difficult next few months for those associated with the Tractor Boys.
