‘OMG’ – Arsenal fans in agreement about Christian Norgaard after what he did vs Wigan

Mikel Arteta has been urged to use Christian Norgaard more often after the Arsenal midfielder’s impressive showing against Wigan Athletic.

Norgaard was handed a rare start in the FA Cup tie, as Arsenal cruised past their League One opponents 4-0 at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners bounced back from a potentially costly draw at Brentford in the Premier League title race with a ruthless performance.

All four goals came in the opening 30 minutes, with Noni Madueke, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Jesus on the scoresheet alongside an own goal from Wigan defender Jack Hunt.

Christian Norgaard ‘should be used more often’ at Arsenal

Norgaard has been utilised as a squad player this season, with the 31-year-old having made just 13 appearances in all competitions.

With Martin Odegaard injured, and Arteta resting Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi, Norgaard started alongside Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze in the middle of the park against Wigan.

Myles Lewis-Skelly was supposed to start in midfield but an injury to Riccardo Calafiori in the warm up meant the 19-year-old had to be moved to left-back.

Norgaard stunned Arsenal fans with his assist for Jesus’ fourth goal, when his pass opened up with the Wigan defence.

His display has seen Arsenal fans calling for the Dane to start against Wolves in their next Premier League match.

One fan posted on social media that he hasn’t “seen a better midfield performance all season,” whilst another said Norgaard’s performance “won’t go unnoticed.”

Arsenal face competition for Christian Pulisic signature

Arteta is already looking at potential transfer targets to strengthen his squad in the summer transfer window.

AC Milan forward Christian Pulisic is the latest to be linked with a move to north London, with Tottenham and Manchester United also interested in the 27-year-old.

Pulisic had a spell in the Premier League with Chelsea between 2019 and 2023, before the American left Stamford Bridge to join AC Milan.

The Italian club could sanction a sale in the region of £60million to £70m, with Pulisic having scored eight goals and contributed two assists this season.

Arsenal are currently not set to lose any players in the summer, with no contracts expiring at the end of the season.
