One of the ‘top 10 talents in Europe’ agrees new contract amid Wolves and Leicester City interest
Millwall have agreed a new contract with a player who was attracting interest from all around Europe in the summer transfer window.
The Lions suffered heartbreak on the final day of the 2024-25 season, missing out on a place in the playoffs after losing 3-1 to Burnley.
Alex Neil‘s side were keen to strengthen, and Millwall targeted Barry Bannan, but the Sheffield Wednesday stalwart chose to stay at Hillsborough, despite the financial problems plaguing the Yorkshire side.
The Lions have endured an up-and-down start to the 2025-26 campaign, winning just three of their opening seven games in the Championship.
However, Millwall have received a significant boost as one of their key players has committed his future to the club.

Mihailo Ivanovic agrees new Millwall contract
Mihailo Ivanovic was a target for Wolves and Leicester City in the summer following a strong debut campaign in England.
The Serbia international scored 12 times in 37 Championship games for Neil’s side and is regarded as a top prospect at just 20-years-old.
Millwall placed a £20million price tag on Ivanovic that caused potential suitors to look at other options this summer.
And having warded off interest from teams in Serie A, the Premier League, and the Championship, the Lions have agreed a new “long-term deal” with the striker, according to the Mirror’s Dan Marsh on X.
Alex Neil receives major boost after ‘top 10 talent’ agrees to stay
Ivanovic’s decision to remain at the Den will come as a major boost for Neil, who clearly rates the striker incredibly highly.
Despite the youngster failing to find the back of the net this season so far, the ex-Stoke City manager has spoken glowingly about the 20-year-old.
Neil told The National on 5 April: “Any 20-year-old that leads the line in the Championship and can get nearly [10 goals], and he’ll get double figures before the end of the season.”
“If you do that, that’s an unbelievable season and it won’t be surprising me if people start talking about him.
“I’ve already seen something the other day talking about the top 10 young talents in Europe – he’s one of them.
“He’s 20 years of age, there are very few strikers at that age that will lead the line at this level and also score goals, so he deserves all the plaudits he gets.”
Whilst both striker and club have endured a slow start to the 2025-26 campaign, it is clear his manager has an immense amount of faith in Ivanovic, and at 20 years old, he clearly has room to continue growing into a top talent.
