Opposition defender ranks Celtic star alongside Aguero and Messi

Borussia Monchengladbach defender Andreas Christensen has stated that Celtic have their own superstar in Moussa Dembele.

The on-loan Chelsea defender, 20, is preparing for a clash against the Scotland giants and Dembele on Wednesday evening when the two club’s meet in the Champions League.

However, he has not been short of praise for his opposition member going into the clash and has even compared Dembele to world class forward duo Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero.

“Already this campaign I have come up against Aguero and Messi, and they are unstoppable on their day,” told Christensen to the Scottish Sun. “They are unplayable when they want to be and, in Dembele, Celtic have their own superstar.

“He might not be on the same level as Aguero and Messi yet, but he is scoring a lot of goals and has proved he is capable at the top level.

“You have to work hard to stop him. So much of Celtic’s success this season have come through his goals.

“If the team can make sure he has a quiet evening, we are confident of a good result.”

Dembele, 20, completed a move to the Scottish giants in the summer from Championship club Fulham.

He has been a key player in Brendan Rodgers’ team since joining and has netted an impressive 13 goals in 18 appearances.

Celtic fans will be keen for the striker to continue his impressive form in a big week which see’s the Hoops take on Monchengladbach and fierce rivals Rangers.
