O’Rourke shares Julen Lopetegui sack update today – West Ham plan revealed
West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui is not in any immediate sack danger despite the 3-0 loss against Nottingham Forest, sources have told Football Insider.
The Irons’ disappointing start to the season continued at the City Ground on Saturday (2 November) leaving them 14th in the Premier League.
West Ham next face Everton in the top flight on Saturday (9 November) in a huge fixture at the London Stadium.
Sources say pressure will ramp up on Lopetegui and set “alarm bells ringing” with the fans and board if the Irons are on the losing side against Sean Dyche’s side.
However, Lopetegui’s reign is seen as a long-term project and the West Ham board will not rush into a knee-jerk decision.
The Spaniard is aware that results and performances must improve if he is to continue in the London Stadium hot seat.
Everton loss on Saturday would set ‘alarm bells ringing’ at West Ham
West Ham have won just three of their 10 Premier League games this term, including a 2-1 victory against Man United last week.
The Irons spent huge money in the summer window in a bid to give Lopetegui the chance to put his own stamp on the side following David Moyes’ exit.

More than £120million (as per Transfermarkt) of new signings arrived at the club – including Max Kilman, Crysencio Summerville and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Lopetegui’s side are six points above the drop zone and were also unceremoniously knocked out of the League Cup in the third round, losing 5-1 away at Liverpool.
In other news, Irons set sights on signing “next Mohamed Salah”.
