Tottenham great Ossie Ardiles warned of controversy on Monday morning as he named Spurs as the best side in England when they are at full strength.

The north London club are currently placed in third in the Premier League table and a hue 10 points behind league leaders Chelsea.

They also finished in third place in the last campaign following an end of season collapse which even saw fierce rivals Arsenal finish above them.

However, Ardiles still believes Tottenham are the best team in England as he took to his personal Twitter account on Monday to express his belief.

Many would agree that Tottenham boast a very strong eleven when at full strength with top class players such as Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld, Dele Alli and Harry Kane in their ranks.

However, behind those they are severely lacking with the likes of Vincent Janssen, Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou all failing to impress since making the move to north London.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team will soon be looking to meet Ardiles’ claims after two seasons of competing for the top spot with their title coming all the way back in 1961.
