Ossie Ardiles believes that Tottenham bounced back brilliantly to their Europa League exit with a comprehensive victory over Stoke.
Spurs were surprisingly eliminated from Europe against Belgian minnows Gent on Thursday, despite being regarded as one of the favourites to win the competition.
They could only manage a 2-2 draw at Wembley against Gent and failed to overturn the 1-0 deficit from the first-leg.
However, Mauricio Pochettino’s side returned to winning ways on Sunday as they dismantled Stoke in the Premier League.
The north London club scored four first-half goals and moved up to second in the league table with the 4-0 win, with Harry Kane (3) and Dele Alli on the scoresheet for the home side.
Former Spurs star Ardiles was delighted with the performance against Stoke and also gave hat-trick hero Kane a special mention, as cited by his official Twitter account.
Great result today. The perfect response for Thursday Wembley game. 1st half: Superb. @HKane outstanding. 2nd goal: impecable skill. COYS

Spurs now have the Premier League and FA Cup to focus on during the remainder of the season, with Pochettino’s side well-placed in both competitions.
They are currently second in the league table and are attempting to secure a top four spot, with runaway leaders Chelsea 10 points ahead of them.
Meanwhile, they have a great chance of doing well in the FA Cup and face League One side Millwall in the quarter-finals, who have already beat top-flight sides Leicester, Watford and Bournemouth in the competition this year.
