Ossie Ardiles believes Tottenham outplayed Everton for 80 minutes in Sunday’s White Hart Lane victory.

The Premier League encounter was looking comfortable for Spurs as they went into the last 10 minutes two goals up through Harry Kane strikes.

However, Romelu Lukaku made it a nervy finish with his goal on the 81st minute taking it to 2-1 before a crucial stoppage time goal from Dele Alli.

Enner Valencia’s goal soon after proved to be a consolation for Everton and Ardiles was very complimentary of the performance on his personal Twitter account, singling out Kane and Mauricio Pochettino for praise specifically.

The win for Tottenham marked their second consecutive league victory, as well as their ninth straight home league win.

The teams success on the pitch has seen them nestle in second place in the English top flight with seven points currently separating them from league leaders Chelsea.

Their next league game comes in the form of Southampton at White Hart Lane in two weeks time with an FA Cup tie with League One Millwall in between.

They will be looking to continue their impressive run against the Saints, who they beat 4-1 at St Mary’s earlier in the season.
